Stand Up Mecosta Notes

March 22, 2022

Mecosta VFW

We wish to thank the Mecosta VFW for allowing us to use their facility. Business items included: where to show the CovidLand movie, organizing a fundraiser and organizing a history scholarship for a deserving high school senior.

The VFW had hotdogs, drinks and snacks available from their kitchen.

Stand Up Michigan Communications’ leader, DeeAnn Ruiter gave an update on state website security, email address registration and three leadership postings for statewide service.

Stand Up Mecosta president, Jeff Thorne introduced Rev. Dar Howard who gave a biblical challenge and the prayer for the evening.

Stand Up Mecosta secretary, Pat Langworth, reviewed two important books, Live What You Believe and The Confident Shepherd which were presented at the SUM winter Leadership Conference. Pat also is organizing a showing of the movie CovidLand to be held at the Mecosta VFW on May 3rd.  Donations of $2 will be greatly appreciated. One half of the proceeds will go to the VFW. Popcorn and snacks will be available at this 6:30pm showing.

Ormand Hook presented the urgency of becoming a Precinct Delegate and several had their Affidavits notarized.

John Moolenaar’s representative handed out brochures and answered questions.

The main speaker for the evening was US Congressional candidate Tom Norton seeking office in our newly altered and identified 2nd US Congressional District.

Please join us at our next meeting April 26th.
